Table Games Legalized in PA

The state of Pennsylvania officially legalized the use of table games earlier this week with the signature of governor Ed Rendell on the piece of legislation presented to him. Many of the casinos in the state of Pennsylvania only have slot machines, but all of that will change with the passing of the legislation signed by Rendell. Now, the casinos will need to reconfigure and rearrange their gambling floors in order to fit in table games. The table games will feature blackjack, craps, and roulette.

The passing of this law not only calls for casinos to redesign their floors but it will also require them to hire more staff members. The casinos will not take a hit by hiring new employees because the amount of people expected to play table games in the casinos is astronomical with the passing of this law. What worries the gambling world is the effect this piece of legislation will have on the casinos in Atlantic City, where a lot of their profit comes from visitors from the state of Pennsylvania. Now Pennsylvania gamblers have table games right in their own backyard.

Many of the casinos in Pennsylvania have already planned to add anywhere from 80 to 100 tables for their gambling floors and will consider adding more after an initial trial phase. The state casinos have also already called their construction companies for the purpose of adding onto the casino, knocking down walls, putting new walls up and much more for the addition of table games.
