2010 L.A. Poker Classic Featuring Satellites

The 2010 L.A. Poker Classic will feature various satellites, allowing poker players to enter into the competition without having to invest millions of dollars. The tournament will take place at Commerce Casino and the involvement of satellites, supersatellites, and megasatellites so that poker players can take part in major events without investing millions of dollars. Satellite play begins on the 15th of January with $40 buy-ins. Winners of each satellite event will move on to higher stake rounds that top out at a buy-in of $1,000.

The No Limit Hold’em Championship for the tournament does not begin until the 26th of February. Seats in the championship are guaranteed in the high stakes satellite rounds of the tournament. Supersatellite events will take place at Commerce Casino from January 20 through February 22 at 7pm. The buy-ins cost $225 and the re-buys cost $200. The winner of each supersatellite will be guaranteed a seat at the Main Event and the WPT Celebrity Invitational.

The buy-in for megasatellite games costs $1,050 and they are No Limit Hold’em events. They take place on February 23, 24, and 25. There were over 100 seats awarded to poker players via satellite events for the tournament that took place in 2009. There were only 35 events in the tournament in 2009. There will be an increase in the number of events for the 2010 tournament that jumps to 51 over a period of 43 days. The total prize pool should reach $20 million, of which $3.3 million of that is guaranteed money. This is the largest amount of money ever put forth by the Commerce Casino for any of their tournaments.
