Poker is an ever growing card game across not only the country but also the world. As it continues to grow in popularity, especially because of the Internet, allows people to play poker at their home instead of in front of thousands of people on casino floors. Casinos and their crowds turn a lot of people off, causing them to stay at home and play the game of poker with family and friends instead of against strangers.

In the past, running home poker games for cash prizes was illegal and still is today in some parts of the country, but people continue to play poker in their home because it is easier than traveling to the casino and dealing with large crowds of people. Playing poker at home can be free for anyone invited to join or can cost a fee for anyone invited to join the tournament.

Playing poker at home is fun to do and safer. There aren’t thousands of people walking around watching you play poker. It is dangerous going to a casino to play poker and then cashing in your winnings. People are all over the place and might be tempted to follow you to the cash register and then commit a crime following the cash out. At home, you don’t run into this problem or risk because you only invite people you know to your in house tournament.

So, next time you get bored playing poker on the Internet or don’t want to go to the casino, consider hosting a tournament in your own home.
