Poker is an incredibly popular card game all across the country today and its popularity continues to grow with the passing of each tournament. One movie, “All in: The Poker Movie,” claims to tell the entire history of poker in the United States. The movie also claims that poker is a ‘microcosm of the American dream.’ The movie was written and directed by Douglas Tirota. It features modern day poker stars and a couple of vintage poker stars as well. The stars featured in the poker movie include the following:

  • Greg Raymer

The movie also features a segment or two with actor and movie star Matt Damon. Damon starred in the movie “Rounders,” which poker players swear by when talking about the game of poker. The movie, while attempting to tell the history of the game of poker, also examines how it has exploded onto the scene very recently. Poker wasn’t this popular two or three decades ago even though the World Series of Poker was televised then as well.

One interviewee in the movie says that poker used to be like ‘watching grass grow.’ That sentiment has changed for a lot of poker players and fans all across the country these days and this sentiment is backed by the fact that millions of people have become enthralled with poker in recent years.
