Top 10 Poker Television Shows Part II
This is part two of our list of top 10 poker television shows and it focuses on Tilt and Mansionpoker.net Poker Dome Challenge. We begin with number eight, Tilt.
Tilt is one of the few fictional television shows about the popular card game of poker. That’s right; it is completely fictional. The series was created by and aired on the ESPN family of networks. The main characters were made up but sometimes real poker playing stars made guest appearances on the show. The main character of the show was known as Don ‘The Matador’ Everest, played by actor Michael Madsen. The character was known for drawing in the suckers. The show began airing in 2005.
People who made cameos in the show Tilt were Phil Hellmuth, David Williams, Norman Chad, Lon McEachern, Daniel Negreanu, T.J. Cloutier, Erik Seidel and Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg. Golic and Greenberg are hosts of ESPN’s Mike and Mike in the Morning, a nationally popular radio show.
The number seven show on our top 10 list is Mansionpoker.net Poker Dome Challenge. This show ran for a total of 43 weeks. The show included speed poker tournaments with a final winning of $1 million. The show ran from May of 2006 to March of 2007 in the United States on the Fox Sports Network. The show was hosted by a variety of rotating commentators during its airtime. Amateur poker players and professional poker players took place in this television show.
